Groups CNPq Research Groups


CNPq's Directory of Research Groups (DGP) is an inventory of scientific and technological research groups operating in the country. The information contained therein concerns the human resources that make up the groups (researchers, students and technicians), the lines of research in progress, the specialties of knowledge, the application sectors involved, the scientific, technological and artistic production and the partnerships established between groups and institutions, especially with companies in the productive sector. With this, it is able to describe the limits and the general profile of scientific-technological activity in Brazil.


To request registration of a research group at CNPq it is necessary:

​​a) To be an effective professor at UFOP; and

b) Possess a Doctor's degree.


To create a research group, you must first obtain the Group Leader registration. To do so, please follow the steps below:

1 - To request your registration as a research group at CNPq, it is necessary to send an email to containing ALL the information requested below:

- Full Name:


- Institutional E-mail:

- Department of origin (name and acronym): 


2 - PROPPI will analyze the request and, once approved, will forward your leader registration request to CNPq. CNPq will then send you an email confirming your registration as a leader in the DGP. After this confirmation, you will need to access the DGP website using your same access data from the Lattes Platform, to fill in your Research Group information.



3 - After duly filling in the data of your Research Group on the DGP website, just wait for the accreditation of the research group registered by the institutional director.


4 - Whenever there are changes in the research group, the group leader must make the necessary updates on the DGP website.
